Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) for Healthcare Providers

In this half-day (4-hour) workshop, attendees will be trained in and allowed to practice Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE). As a result, attendees can immediately incorporate TRE into their practice and self-care.

TRE is a simple yet innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

-Participants will understand the neurogenic tremor response and how it relates to stress and trauma.

-Participants will learn the anatomy, neurology, and physiology of stress and trauma as it relates to TRE.

-Participants will have a basic understanding of Poly-vagal theory.

-Participants will learn the TRE exercises and protocols and be able to practice competently on their own for self-care.

-Participants will learn how TRE compares to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in treating trauma and how to incorporate TRE into their acupuncture practice.
